Step 1

Your vinyl design consists of three parts. The top application tape, the vinyl, and the bottom backing paper.

Step 2

Prepare the surface you will be applying the vinyl to by making sure it is clean (free of dust and debris). Make sure surface is completely dry before you begin the application process. 

Step 3

You should measure and mark your surface where the vinyl design will be applied, to ensure it will be straight when the application process is complete. This step is important since the vinyl cannot be repositioned once it is adhered to the surface.

Step 4

Tape your vinyl design (all three layers) temporarily to the surface, using masking or painters tape. The tape should be positioned at the top of your design. 

Step 5

Using a credit card, tongue depressor, or something similar, rub over the application tape, applying a gentle amount of pressure, to ensure it is properly adhered to the vinyl.

Step 6

Flip the entire design up and carefully remove the backing paper, making sure the application tape is picking up the vinyl design from the backing paper. If the vinyl does not come off the backing paper, lay the design back down and rub more, specifically around the edge of the design in the problem area. Then try again to remove the backing paper.

Step 7

When backing paper is removed, carefully lay the vinyl design down against the surface, smoothing it out as you go.

Step 8

Rub over the application tape again to help the vinyl adhere to your surface.

Step 9

Carefully remove the top application tape. Making sure the vinyl is adhering to the surface. If it starts lifting up, you can use your fingers to help it adhere to the surface. If it doesn’t easily come off the application tape, repeat rubbing process.

Step 10

Once the application tape has been removed. Smooth over the design with your fingers to ensure it is completely adhered to the surface. Enjoy!

Carefully lift edges with fingernail, and pull vinyl from the surface.
